Sorosoro Community Translation Effort
Sorosoro Community Translation Effort, a community translation effort with students enrolled on the MA in Translation Studies at Dublin City University.
Dr. Sharon O'Brien is coordinating a community translation effort with some of the students currently enrolled on the MA in Translation Studies at Dublin City University. Students volunteer as translators for content written originally in French which is translated into English by them, and then revised by Dr. O'Brien. The translated content is posted on the Sorosoro web site (http://www.sorosoro.org/en/ ) and to YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/sorosorotv). The aim of the Sorosoro programme is to contribute to the safeguard and revitalization of the 3, 000 world languages currently threatened with extinction.
