CNGL Teachers as Researchers Programme 2010

Primary and second level teachers have the opportunity to work in a CNGL research centre (DCU, UCD, TCD or UL) for 6-8 weeks during the summer. The intern works closely on a project with a research team. The aim of the internship is that the teacher can bring their expertise to the project and bring something tangible back to the classroom.

Example: A teacher tested and evaluated a content-free authoring tool with a researcher, populated the tool with appropriate teaching content and used it back in their classroom.

CNGL Transition Year Work Experience Programme 2010

CNGL runs a Transition year students (work experience) programme. Transition year students join CNGL for their work experience. Students will get to experience a busy research and office environment and work on small projects with their research team.

Example: A student was trained up on a Twitter app' called "Twanslate" that translates twitter messages and then demo'd it at the University Open Day.
